Naturopathic Training

Naturopathic Doctors undergo training similar to that of medical doctors with the addition of learning Naturopathic principles and treatment methods. Prior to entering the Naturopathic program potential students must have completed at least three years of pre-medical sciences at a University, however most have a degree. The Naturopathic program is full-time for four years and includes more than 4,500 hours of classroom training and 1,500 hours of supervised clinical training. Graduates must pass the NPLEX board exams. These are the standard examinations used by all licensing jurisdictions for Naturopathic doctors in North America. Furthermore, all graduates must complete their local jurisdictional (provincial or state) licensing examinations prior to commencing practice.
